Apple unveiled the iPhone 5 10 years ago, which ditched the 30-pin connector in favor of the Lightning port. Thanks to this port, users can insert the cable into the phone regardless of the correct orientation. Before Lightning, there was only one correct orientation for other ports.

After what felt like forever, the iPhone 15 series is here, and we’re diving deep into everything new with these fresh iPhones from Apple.

Introducing the iPhone 15
On September 12, 2023, Apple unveiled four models: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. These phones have seen improvements across the board, making them even more appealing. Just a heads-up, though: based on current info, the iPhone 15 series won’t be registered like the 14 series.

iPhone 15 and 15 Plus Design
The iPhone 15 Plus is basically a bigger version of the iPhone 15, with the only differences being the screen size and battery capacity. It’s perfect for those who love a larger display. Both models have slimmer bezels, and the Dynamic Island is front and center at the top of the screen.

Even though the overall design of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus hasn’t changed much, there are two key differences. First, the edges are a bit more curved, making the phone feel better in your hand and less annoying. Second, the back glass is now matte instead of glossy, which means it doesn’t show fingerprints as easily and feels better to the touch.

iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max Design
The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max have undergone several significant changes, making these phones seem more complete. The first change is the use of Grade 5 titanium instead of stainless steel for the side frame, which is both more durable and lighter. This change has reduced the weight of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max by 19 grams compared to the previous generation.

The second change is the matte titanium frame, which doesn’t get dirty easily and gives the phones a more premium look. Also, instead of being completely flat, the frame on these models is slightly curved for a more comfortable grip.

Display and Brightness
All four iPhone 15 models have the Dynamic Island, and the Pro versions have smaller bezels than before. The screen-to-body ratio on the iPhone 15 Pro Max has increased from 88% to 90%. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus have also improved in terms of the bezels around the display, but this change isn’t as significant compared to the Pro models.

Action

On the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, the traditional mute switch has been replaced with a new button called the Action button. This button is customizable and can be used for muting, launching the camera, turning on the flashlight, and other functions.

The iPhone 15 was expected to be unveiled in three weeks and released a month later, but it looks like we’ll have to wait until October for the launch. Reports indicate that issues in the supply of camera sensors for the iPhone 15 Pro Max from Sony are causing the delay. Rumors also suggest major changes to the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s camera, including the addition of a periscope lens with optical zoom.

Images of the iPhone 15 Pro show it doesn’t look all that different from the iPhone 14 Pro. The iPhone 15 Pro Max still has three cameras on the back and uses the Dynamic Island. Also, the USB-C port has replaced the Lightning port.
